Seisen'in1 (1796 1846). N.: Kano Yasunobu (Osanobu Yoshin).2 F.N.: Shozaburo,3 Osanobu.4 Go: Gyokusen,s Kaishinsai (Eshinsai),s Seisen,7 Seisen'in.3 Biog.: Kano painter. Represented the eighth generation of the Kobikicho branch of the Kano school. Son and pupil of Kano Isen'in, became in his turn gayo eshi and did mucn work at Edo Castle. Also made copies of earlier paintings. In 1819, given title of hogen; in 1834 that of hoin. at which time he began to use the go of Seisen'in. Author of a well-known diary, Kaishinsai Nenki, which is essential for the study of the Kano school. Toward the end of his life, took orders.
