Japanese, (1790–1838)
Maruyama painter. Son of Kinoshita Oju; pupil and adopted son of Matuyama Ozui. Became head of the third generation of the Marnyama school. Lived in Kyoto. Also studied under Komai Genki. Specialized in landscapes and kachoga done in a slightly realistic manner, following generally in the family tradition. -- Roberts, L. Dictionary of Japanese Artists (1980)
