Gyokusen (1744-95). N.: Mochizuki Makoto2 (or Shigekatsu3 or Shigesuke).4 A.: Shusei.5 Go: Gyokusen.6 Biog.: Painter. Born in Kyoto. Son and pupil of Mochizuki Gyokusen Shigemori. At first used his father's go Gyokusen, the first of the go noted below, but later changed the second character. Specialized in portraiture and kachoga, working in his father's style. -- Roberts, L.
